Fungisel Agar (Powder)

Selective medium with nearly neutral pH, used to isolate pathogenic fungi. Description: Fungisel agar contains chloramphenicol and cycloheximide. These antibiotics selectively inhibit saprophytic fungi and bacteria while allowing pathogenic fungi to grow. Various workers demonstrated the use of these antibiotics in Sabouraud Dextrose Agar and other media for the isolation of pathogenic fungi from specimens with mixed flora.
