Aurora C1 is a member of the aurora/Ipl1p family of protein kinases that are important regulators of mitosis.2 Aurora C is a novel chromosomal passenger protein that, in coordination with Aurora B, regulates mitotic chromosome dynamics in human cells.3,4 Aurora C may play a role in organizing microtubules relating to the function of the centrosome/spindle pole during mitosis, and is localized to the centrosome from anaphase to cytokinesis.5 The expression of Aurora C is maximum at M phase.5 Aurora C is activated by directly associating with inner centromere protein (INCENP).3 Aurora C is expressed...
