Cullin 3 (Cullin-3, CUL3, CUL-3, KIAA0617) (Biotin)

Cullins are scaffold proteins in the E3 ligase complex and forms a catalytic core complex with Roc1/Rbx1/Hrt1, with Roc1 recruiting a cognate E2 enzyme. They are major components of SCF complexes, and have been implicated in degradation of key regulatory molecules including Cyclin E, beta-catenin and Cubitus interruptus. Six Cul protein members have been identified in mammals: Cul1, Cul2, Cul3, Cul4A, Cul4B, and Cul5.
