These can be temperamental but usually when the students get the hang of them they are fine. Just make sure the wings on the container fit into the recessed area of the dispenser so it lines up properly. You still may get a hang up every now and then but these are much better than the plastic alternatives and it keeps students from utilizing other means to extract the discs which can lead to contamination. We use these for the radial diffusion lab utilizing B. cereus and E. coli - two different types of bacterial - to see the effects of different antibiotics on gram positive, spore formers and gram negative bacteria. Works great.
