Although expensive, this is a wonderful tool is have in any microbiology lab. I have one to demonstrate other methods to sterilize inoculating loops.

Nice but we had one go out with minimal usage

We bought a few of these a couple of years ago and rarely use them. The students mostly prefer to use a bunsen burner but some like these and we like to show them options. The one unit we left out (easy to get to) and had the most use, which was pretty minimal, went bad after a short time period. If you do get one of these I strongly suggest getting the loop rest to go with it.
