I bought this microscope six months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am a retiree, naturalist, and microscopy hobbyist. This microscope is easy to use and excellent for a middle - high student and a for hobby. The achromatic lens are of good quality and give a sharp image. 40x, 100x and 400x are what is really required for most imaging, and are supplied by this scope. The 10x widefield eye piece gives a nice wide view and decreases fatigue.The LED is very bright and cool. In combination with the fixed Abbe condenser and diaphragm, live and prepared specimens are viewed quite well. Although it is a monocular scope I have not developed eye fatigue. Ive made dark and colored filters from plastic
material bought inexpensively from a hobby shop to create oblique and Rheinberg illumination for enhanced viewing. I place the filters directly on the LED housing. The mechanical stage works well and facilitates specimen viewing at all magnifications.
