Description
Scaled to 6× life size, this vinyl plastic model replicates a segment of the upper thoracic spinal cord. Sectioned both longitudinally and in cross section, a portion of the white matter of the right half has been cut away to expose the anterior and posterior nerve roots which have been color-coded as follows: general visceral afferent (sensory)—green; general somatic afferent (sensory)—yellow; general visceral efferent (motor)—red; general somatic efferent (motor)—black. A color-keyed circuitry schematic is mounted along with the model on the hardwood base. Size, 12 × 8 × 5" (30 × 20 × 13 cm).
