We make our own LB broths, agars, and calcium chloride for use with the pBLU refill kit. Our Intro to Biology, General Biology, and Microbiology students learn all about gene transformation by performing the pBLU lab experiment.
Results are excellent and students are always excited to see the blue colonies of E. coli on the X-GAL positive plates. With this kit refill and by making media ourselves, were saving money while providing students with a great gene transformation experiment.
