Students can easily study sex-linked, recessive, and dominant mutations. Drosophila yield many flies from just 1 vial of our media. Chromosome 1 Mutants (sex-linked) are easy-to-score strains that are excellent for beginning genetics. These flies are also recommended for investigating sex-linked inheritance. The white miniature mutation produces white eyes and miniature wings. Each culture vial contains approximately 25–30 adult fruit flies (Drosophila) capable of producing over 50 offspring over a span of 2 weeks, given proper care and environmental conditions.
