I cant say enough good things about this company. This praying mantis project was a hit in the classroom. Instructions were clear. But even more praise for their customer service. The postal service failed them with the delivery of live eggs/culture. But they immediately shipped out replacements. They are easy to work with. They have my business for life.
Praying Mantis Life Cycle

I have ordered this kit annually for at least five years now, using it with middle school science classes. The children love to watch the mantises hatch out, and then care for them individually in their separate tubes - providing food and water daily. Nice tie in with the life cycle of the fruit flies. We have also been able to keep the mantises going over the summer, and once had the adults mate and lay a new egg.
Only concern is when the weather in the northeast is cold and you order late - one time the mantises hatched just at the very end of the school year and we had to let them go after a day or so.

This was a great project for my students, I have many at risk students and using live animals really draws them into my lessons. All of my students enjoyed looking at the moltings under the microscopes.
