PHLPP2, a protein phosphatase and negative regulator, which mediates the inactivation of Akt and protein kinase C (PKC) activity, through the direct dephosphorylation of key regulatory sites: AKT1 (Ser473), PRKCA (Ser657) and PRKCB isoform beta-II (Ser660). PHLPP2, and its alternative isoform PHLPP1, have been implicated as important suppressors of tumor cell growth, being linked with breast, ovarian and colon cancer.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
