TRPM8 (CMR1, Cold-menthol Receptor Type 1, LTrpC- 6, TRPP8, Trp-p8, LTRPC6)

TRPM8 is a receptor activated non-selective cation channel, permeable for monovalent cations sodium, potassium, cesium and the divalent cation calcium. It was originally identified due to its up regulation in prostate carcinoma. It has since been shown to be involved in the detection of coldness and is activated by icilin, eucalyptol, menthol, cold, and modulation of intracellular pH. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
