Valnemulin hydrochloride is a semisynthetic antimicrobial agent belongs to pleuromutilins special for animal. It is mainly used for preventing and controlling mycoplasma, Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria infection in pig, bovine, sheep and other poultry. Recently, several studies have been reported that pleuromutilins bind with domain V of 23S RNA at ribosome of pathogenic microorganism, to inhibit peptidyl transferase, to inhibit synthesis of protein, and finally resulting death of pathogenic microorganism and exerting antibacterial activity.
