Ozagrel: A Selective Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) Synthetase Inhibitor
Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) is a type of thromboxane that is produced by activated platelets during hemostasis, and also is a potent constrictor of smooth muscle. Ozagrel (OKY-046) is a selective TXA2 synthetase inhibitor, and blocks platelet aggregation and reduces hypersensitivity of the bronchial muscles. In clinical, it has been used for the treatment of a therapeutic agent for ischemic heart diseases, thromboembolic disorders, cerebral circulatory disorders, and asthma.
