Experimental procedure: to a solution of 1 (1 eq.), 2 (1 eq.) and DEPBT (1 eq.) in THF, triethylamine (2 eq.) is added. The reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature for 2 h. Saturated NaCl solution is added. The peptide is extracted with EtOAc (3 times). The combined organic layer is washed with 1 mol/L HCl, water, 5% Na2CO3, brine and dried over MgSO4. The solvent is removed under reduced pressure and the resulting residue is recrystallized to afford 3 (94% yield).
