5-methyl Chrysene is a carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon consisting of four fused rings and acts as an aryl hydrocarbon receptor agonist. It is produced by the incomplete combustion of organic matter and found primarily in gasoline exhaust and tobacco smoke. 5-methyl Chrysene can be activated to mutagenic metabolites by cytochrome P450 1A1 and 1B1.
