Altay Cranial Cavity, Head, Neck, and Thorax Model

This model is great for studying muscles, blood vessels of the head and neck, and the brain but the brain easily comes out of the cranial cavity. This makes transportation of the model from storage difficult.

I use this model for teaching upper level undergraduate anatomy labs. It shows many deep muscles, nerves and blood vessels that are not visible on other models. The manufacturer clearly put effort into creating a high quality detailed model. Unfortunately, the vast majority of anatomical structures shown on this model are not numbered. This limits its usefulness for students to work independently to locate anatomical structures unless instructors take time out of their busy schedules to create their own keys. Also, a previous reviewer noted that the brain falls out easily during transport. I observed that as well. In our lab, we remove the brain and transport it separately. It is less convenient but no big deal.
