Description
Chlorococcum hypnosum is a green bacteria-free algae culture. This nonmotile, unicellular alga has prominent chloroplasts and pyrenoids. Used for food for Hypsibius dujardini (tardigrade or water bear, item #133960). Each green algae culture contains enough material for a class of 30 students. This culture requires a high light level of 200 to 400 foot-candles of fluorescent light 18 to 24" from the culture. Optimal medium: Bristols Medium. Optimum growth temperature: 22° C.
