Polycomb group proteins are important for maintaining transcriptional silencing. One conserved PcG complex, PRC2, is composed of several proteins including the histone methyltransferase EZH2, the WD-repeat protein EED (Embryonic ectoderm development), and the Zn-finger protein Suz12.
